Long Beach Aquarium Cogeneration Plant in Long Beach, CA
Keystone Engineering Solutions, Inc. developed performance acceptance testing criteria and conducted acceptance testing for the dual Duetz natural gas engine (1.3 MW) and the 100-ton absorption chiller plant.
California Refrigeration Cogeneration Plant in Long Beach, CA
We performed troubleshooting on a 600 kW natural gas engine plant that utilized waste heat to defrost refrigeration systems via underground water storage tanks, identifying and correcting pump capacity and piping circuit deficiencies.
Nestlé Cogeneration Plant in Cabazon, CA
We provided detailed pipe fabrication for the natural gas, condenser water, chilled water, hot water, and exhaust systems for a two-engine (2,686 kW) cogeneration plant.
Hospitality
Doubletree Hotel, Santa Ana, CA
We designed a 3,000-ton central plant to serve the Doubletree Hotel and future adjacent properties in Santa Ana, California. Our scope included the hotel's mechanical HVAC system, which features stackable 4-pipe fan coil units for its 257 rooms across a total area of 140,000 square feet. The HVAC system cost $1.7 million, with an additional $1.9 million for the central plant.
Entertainment Facilities
Gotcha Glacier in Santa Ana, CA
We developed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for a $27.5 million, 360,000 sq. ft. indoor snowboarding and entertainment facility in Anaheim, California. The facility includes a wave park, skateboard park, rock climbing wall, fitness center, ice rink, restaurants, and more. Our responsibilities encompassed conceptualizing MEP design, developing performance criteria, creating cost estimates, assisting with contract documents, and leading a team of design/build firms.
Schools and Universities
Golden West College in Huntington Beach, CA
We designed campus infrastructure and energy conservation upgrades, which included a 1,200 control point Energy Management System (EMS) expansion for HVAC and lighting, retrofits for chillers and cooling towers, new boiler installation, liquid pressure amplifiers, HVAC unit replacements, and classroom renovations.
Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA
We designed and installed a new 2,200-control-point Energy Management System (EMS) for the campus-wide control of HVAC and lighting systems.
Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA (Chiller Plants)
We designed the installation of two chiller plants and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) system replacements/retrofits. Our work involved conducting non-destructive corrosion testing of the existing chilled water piping system and coordinating the facility shutdown period. Each TES system has a total capacity of 1,000 ton-hours.
Industrial and Manufacturing Facilities
Owens Corning in Texas, California, Arizona, and Utah
We served as the regional developer for energy efficiency projects at Owens Corning Fiberglass and Composite Plants across California, Texas, Arizona, and Utah. We managed a team of energy auditors, engineers, analysts, construction managers, and estimators, identifying, assessing, and proposing energy projects based on feasibility and risk analysis.
Ocean Spray in Henderson, NV
As the regional developer for energy efficiency projects at the bottling facility, we identified potential energy projects, assessed feasibility and risks, and developed implementation proposals. Our projects included lighting retrofits, pasteurizer replacements, air compressor retrofits, and upgrades to low-temperature refrigeration systems.
